Brock Ormond began journalism at the age of 12, but his love
of hockey dates back as long as he can remember. Brock is a
wealth of knowledge and has gained a great deal of experience
in the field of sports journalism. Brock began his career at the OHL
level as a hockey play-by-play broadcaster on TV Cogeco at the
age of 17.
Brock landed his first full time position as a FASTHockey/Hockey TV play-by-play broadcaster in the OJHL at the age of 18. Brock's preparation, attention to detail, descriptive style and professionalism has gained him the respect of his listeners and allowed him to maintain this position entering into his fourth season.
Brock's experience has grown significantly as he also serves as the Manager of Media Relations for the Trenton Golden Hawks hockey club, hockey website content writer with the Trenton Golden Hawks and Wellington Dukes of the OJHL, blogger and writer for On the Powerplay, Hockey TV play-by-play broadcaster with the Trenton Golden Hawks and Wellington Dukes, sports reporter, writer, copy editor, photographer for Quinte News, news, sports and weather radio anchor with 800 CJBQ, MIX 97 and ROCK 107.
As an experienced, enthusiastic, and dedicated journalist, Brock provides his readers and listeners with top notch written content, play-by-play broadcasts and news, sports and weather casts. Brock has a natural voice for radio, internet and television, that listeners say is "pleasing to the ear."
Brock's a respectful, ethical, responsible and collaborative individual that brings quality to all of his work. He adapts very well to multiple work environments and understands the importance of accuracy and meeting tight deadlines which are so important as a journalist.
Brock's most proud moments are; being recognized with a Service Ontario award for volunteering in 2017 and getting to share sports stories and his voice with his listeners.
In his spare time, Brock enjoys volunteering, playing hockey, playing baseball, reading sports biographies, writing and supporting other young up-and-coming journalists in the field.
